Perseverance

Layered tones of navy, pink, white, silver, and gold sweep across this canvas. Grand in scale, this original abstract is a powerful statement piece for a large space. The title Perseverance came from Prea’s experience creating this piece. A blank canvas of this scale can be quite intimidating to start painting on, but in light of Prea’s artistic goals of aiming to paint on larger and larger canvases, she was determined to not let this particular day pass by without getting at least some paint on this giant canvas. The end result of how the painting will look is never known, but the colours to start with have to be chosen first, so she chose and pushed herself to make the first marks, and it really did take a lot of effort to start it. That is often the first obstacle of a project – just STARTING it – but once you get going, the flow comes, and hopefully that experience gives you strength to start future projects sooner.
