Expanse
Sky blues and pastel purples stretch across this panoramic horizon in Expanse, with dark navy blue splatters propelling from the horizon. Traces of a previous painting underneath create interesting textures. As Prea paints, the final outcome is never known. She paints until it feels finished based on whatever vibes are coming from the canvas, and then she titles it accordingly. This piece received its name based on the “beginning of Creation” vibes that Prea was feeling when observing it, specifically the passage from the Bible which reads:
And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse “sky” [Or “Heaven”]. And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
